Computational investigation of ammonia-hydrogen peroxide blends in HCCI engine mode

The potential use of hydrogen peroxide as an ignition promoter to enable the ammonia in compression engines is explored current study. A simplified numerical HCCI engine model within Chemkin Pro suite employed. investigation reveals that proposed significantly more advantageous against conventional method preheating intake charge achieve ignition, whilst using a glow plug. In particular, IMEP, power and torque exhibit increase greater than 65% along with spectacular decrease NOx emissions reaching certain cases 9-fold decrease. thermal efficiency exhibits moderate, yet non-negligible increase, around 5%. Generally, incremental leads well maximum temperature and, hence, emissions. These increases are largely linear addition. Finally, introduction two-stage process, where first stage was found be instrumental control therefore, system’s efficiency. Further research required substantiate further feasibility limitations technology which can rapid decarbonization heavy duty applications, such marine ships trucks.
